East-West Challenge and Play at Jasper Muny

Email from Mike Anderson:

We will be playing a home and away East/West challenge beginning with 15
Sept at Country oaks playing in twosomes against twosomes in scramble the
first nine holes and best ball in the second nine holes. Then playing on 22
Sept at Lakeview 2-Ball gross the first nine holes and alternating shot on
the second nine holes. The teams for alternating shot will pick which player
will tee-off from the odd holes 1,3,5,7,9 and who will tee-off the even
holes 2,4,6,8 alternating thru making the putt. If one gets rained out will
pay based on the one course scores. If it rains during the event must play 9
holes to get at least one event in of the four. It will be match play
throughout but finish each event because for the day there will be a medal
point for the day of 18 holes. Three posible points for each team each day.

I could only get two tee times for Tuesday at Jasper muni 9:00 and 9:08 so
be there early so we can start early if possible be there by 8:40 to wedge
more. expect 12 or possibly more.

The 'Luck-of-the-Draw' Crew Wins at Lakeview

Photo: Danny Thomas, Junior Byron, Jack Nickless and Mike Anderson are all smiles after routing the competition at Lakeview Tuesday morning.

The Tuesday Boyz Club met at Lakeview today with four teams of four playing a modified scramble. The game centered around par three expertise as it was there that each golfer played his own ball with three of the four counting as the team score. The par fours and par fives were played in the standard scramble format. The results:

1. Junior Byron, Mike Anderson, Danny Thomas and Jack Nickless: 102 (four under par, plus four on the par threes)
2. Max Muench, Tony Burnside, CV Burgess and Rex Hudson: 110 (four over par, plus nine on the par threes)
2. Phil Culver, Wayne Souerdike, John Chapman and Sam Gee: 110 (four over par, plus ten on the par threes)
4. Mike Bird, Jack Butcher, Ken Graehler and Ray Shaw: 112 (six over par, plus ten on the par threes)

Note: The winning team included three players who vied for low gross score in a recent event at Country Oaks and rationalized their good fortune to the 'luck-of-the-draw' in the selection of the teams just four hours earlier. Readers of this post are encouraged to suggest in the comment section an alternate and equally appropriate name for the what turned out to be a fabulous foursome.
